Events - Mackinaw City Burton and I are starting our 2010 calendar for your visits to the most amazing spot on this earth. If you are looking for a run,walk,parade,sale,bike ride,or just some R&R here are the dates that we are trusting to be correct. Always check back for changes though. We LOVE sharing what God has given us with our friends and family but we only have soooo many beds. Remember also, we will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary on the actual date of June 6th,2010,and it will be special so mark your calendars and be sure that we have you on ours :)

Dr. Roth was at the game so a kinde Dr. Racene steped in just in time to grab you as you were ready to bless this great big world. You have the gift of hospitality,you are tenderhearted,you reach out to the needy,you are a steadfast trustworthy friend,you have the peace in your heart and the assurance of heaven. You have been the easiest child to raise and have touched your family with your goodness over the years that you have been with us. You are an amazing mom and wife,and we are so proud of you and all you have accomplished in your short life. WE LOVE YOU MORE THEN LIFE.

Mackinaw Morning

The Ferry had just left with the last dihard Island workers as the sun started to show itself. As you can see the post office is the most popular place and it isn'e even open for business jsut the boxes.

Of coures Coffman's Hardware is open early so Hank and I can ralways run in and visit my friend Linda. The pink breick on my favorite Pizza place was to pretty to ignore on this early morning walk

Mackinaw Island Morning-My last day of work for the season

I boarded the 7:00 AM Ferry in first light to my Island. I had the pleasure of riding with my co-workers and many "regular"Island workers that do this comute everyday. It was a perfect event-breathtaking sunrise just over Round Island Lighthoues,with a smattering of clouds. The deck boards were heavy with frost and very slippery, I could take my time, walk slowly and drink in the Island morning. The dray was waiting to be loaded, a few carriages were lined along main street, all the eateries were abuzz with friendly guests enjoying the fall air and sweet eats.I paused often a took as many pictures as my batteries would allow. Following a cue from my friend Mike F. I went the Marquett park :rout UP,UP,UP the back wood staircase behind Ann's Cottage and found "Anna's path "to the bluff overlooking the north port of the Island. A hugh bald eagle soared over my head to add his blessing to this magical moment,my last day to work at Fort Mackinac for this season. Thank you coworkers,guests and friends for making this the best summer of my life. Friends came to say goodbye, Donna baked me a cherry pie,Kirk and Daniel pampeder me with hot chicken dumpling soup by the fire at the Fort Tea room . Maddie and Bear (dog friends) even came by to see me. I will try to post pictures of this day but I may not have luck. We will mis this magical place but it is in my heart until I return.
